Erich Almonte is an associate in King & Spalding’s Houston office and a member of the firm’s Contracts and Business Torts practice. Erich represents public and private companies in a broad range of disputes in federal and state court relating to construction contracts, natural gas royalties, trade secrets, securities, and False Claims Act and RICO violations. His regulatory practice includes advising clients on natural gas royalty matters and representing them in appeals to the Office of Natural Resources Revenue, Interior Board of Land Appeals, and of final agency actions to federal courts.

Erich also provides litigation risk counseling and strategic advice on franchise termination litigation and relationship issues. He has represented clients in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement actions conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission and advised clients regarding compliance with Office of Foreign Asset Control and Bureau of Industry and Security requirements related to U.S. economic sanctions. 

Erich earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and served on the Journal for Poverty Law and Policy. After law school, he served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. Erich has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, has published two articles in Infantry Magazine and is an alumnus of the Army’s Strategic Studies Fellowship Program.
