Brett Seifarth focuses his practice on aviation matters, specifically aircraft finance, and he has extensive experience advising manufacturers, leasing companies, commercial banks, equity investors, finance companies, rating agencies, private equity funds, hedge funds, issuers, servicers, and other industry stakeholders in a wide variety of domestic and cross-border transactions involving commercial and business aviation assets.

Brett counsels clients in all aspects of aviation finance and leasing transactions, including portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, operating leases, sale-leasebacks, secured loan financings, second lien facilities, warehouse facilities, PDP financings, commercial paper transactions, residual value and credit support agreements, asset-backed securitizations, and export-credit agency financings. He also has experience advising creditors, independent directors, and investors on various matters, including airline bankruptcies, repossessions, restructurings/workouts and distressed-asset transactions. Brett also represents aircraft manufacturers in fleet sales and supply chain matters.

In addition, Brett advises companies and high-net-worth individuals in all aspects of the purchase, sale, leasing, financing and operation of business aircraft and fractional aircraft interests including structures for ownership and importation/use in foreign jurisdictions.

Brett previously served as in-house counsel to a global aircraft manufacturer and was a member of transportation finance practices ranked by Chambers USA and Legal 500 United States before joining the firm in 2024. He has been recognized by Legal 500 United States as a “Rising Star” (2021-23) and “Recommended Attorney” (2020-21) in the Aviation and Air Travel: Finance category and by National Law Review as a Go-To Thought Leader (2020) in connection with a series of client advisories regarding the impact of the CARES Act and related legislation on the aviation industry.
