Saranya Raghavan is a trial lawyer with a decade of experience in complex patent litigation. Drawing on her degrees in electrical and computer engineering and her prior experience as a software engineer, she represents technology companies in disputes involving software, electronics, networking, telecommunications, and medical devices. Saranya has built a reputation for mastering the technical details of her cases and translating complex technical issues into clear litigation strategies and trial narratives. 

Saranya’s experience includes numerous trials in federal district courts across the nation, as well as proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Earlier in her legal career, she prosecuted utility patent applications in the electronic and computer arts, including applications involving software, internet-based applications, graphical user interfaces, financial and insurance products, and business methods. 

Saranya received her J.D., cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she served as an assistant editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property. She earned her M.S. in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University and her B.S., magna cum laude, in electrical and computer engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.

Counsel for Ryan Hardin and Andrew Hill, inventors on a patent related to geofencing technology, in a patent infringement suit brought against Samsung. After prevailing for the inventors on key claim construction, summary judgment, and Daubert issues, the case settled days before trial. 

VIAAS Inc. v. Cisco Systems Inc. (W.D. Tex.) Counsel for Cisco in a patent infringement dispute relating to video surveillance technology. Early motions to dismiss for lack of standing resulted in early dismissal.

The court granted a sweeping win for Corning on all summary judgment and Daubert motions. 

NuVasive, Inc. v. Alphatec Holdings, Inc. (S.D. Cal.) Counsel for Alphatec in patent infringement dispute brought by competitor NuVasive, Inc. relating to spinal surgical implants and access tools patents. Alphatec defeated preliminary injunction and later secured a substantial reduction in damages following a jury trial. 

Rovi Guides, Inc. v. Comcast Corp. (ITC) Counsel for Comcast in a six-patent case brought by Rovi against Comcast’s set-top boxes based on Comcast’s interactive program guides and Comcast’s use of in-home networking standards. After an ITC trial, the parties reached a confidential resolution.
