Fernando Rodriguez-Cortina is a senior associate in King & Spalding's Houston office and a member of the International Arbitration Practice Group. Mr. Rodriguez-Cortina’s practice focuses on commercial and investor-state arbitration.

Mr. Rodriguez-Cortina has been involved in disputes relating to private and public international law issues, bilateral investment treaties, breach of contract, mergers and acquisitions, and insurance coverage, under the ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. He has represented clients in the oil and gas, mining, aerospace, retail, construction, pharmaceutical, automotive, aviation and insurance industries.  

Mr. Rodriguez-Cortina earned his law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and completed the Law and Global Economy dual degree LL.M program at the New York University School of Law and the National University of Singapore.  He also completed a diploma course on International Commercial Arbitration at the Mexican Arbitration Center in Mexico City.

Before joining King & Spalding, Mr. Rodriguez-Cortina was an associate in the International Arbitration and Corporate groups of a Mexican law firm in Mexico City, where he participated in a number of cross-border transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, project financing and other contractual arrangements, representing Mexican and multinational clients from a broad spectrum of industries.
