Daniel Kahan is partner in King & Spalding’s Corporate, Finance and Investments Practice and co-leads both the firm’s Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Group and Fintech, Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies Group. His corporate transactional practice focuses on venture capital and private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and spin-offs, debt and equity offerings, digital asset transactions, and corporate governance matters. Mr. Kahan also regularly advises clients in strategic technology transactions, including professional service, software-as-a-service, distribution, reseller, and intellectual property licensing agreements.
Mr. Kahan has worked with companies, entrepreneurs, venture capital investors, private equity investors, and strategic corporate investors and acquirers across a range of sectors, including enterprise software, software and cloud infrastructure, fintech, blockchain, insurtech, cybersecurity, e-commerce, hardware, life sciences, healthcare, and travel.
Mr. Kahan is a frequent writer and speaker on startup, fintech, cryptocurrency, and blockchain topics. He has been recognized by Legal 500 in its Venture Capital and Emerging Companies category, with clients describing him as “exceptional” and noting that he “understands clients’ businesses well and provides practical, timely advice.” He has also been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” from 2014 - 2021.
