Kerrie Howze is a Counsel based in the Atlanta office of King & Spalding and a member of the firm’s Healthcare practice.  Kerrie represents healthcare providers, including health systems, hospitals, physician organizations and post-acute care providers, on a variety of federal and state healthcare regulatory and compliance matters and False Claims Act litigation.  She has significant experience leading government investigation defense as well as in conducting internal investigations and advising on self-disclosure strategies.  Kerrie also routinely counsels clients on proactive compliance efforts and conducts compliance program assessments. 

Prior to re-joining King & Spalding, Kerrie served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 10 company where she advised the pharmaceutical distribution business on contracting with retail pharmacies and group purchasing organizations and negotiated and drafted complex distribution agreements.  She provided day-to-day counseling to business unit leaders and key operational stakeholders on issues arising in the distribution business and routinely provided education on compliance with the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, including the discount and GPO safe harbors. 

Kerrie received her Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, with honors, from the University of Georgia where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law.  While in law school, Kerrie served as an Articles Editor for the Georgia Law Review.  She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.
