The Daily Journal recognized two King & Spalding trial victories in its annual Top Verdicts 2025 report, which profiles the largest and most impactful trial outcomes in California Federal and State courts. The publication lauded the firm’s victories for clients Caesarstone and Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Inc., a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
- King & Spalding secured a complete defense victory for Caesarstone after a hard-fought five-week trial. Plaintiffs alleged that slabs manufactured by Caesarstone and other defendants were defectively designed and lacked warnings, causing a stone fabricator's death from silicosis. The jury found no negligence or design defect after less than one day of deliberation. The trial team included Peter Strotz, Bryan King, and Michael Mosher.
- King & Spalding secured a complete victory for Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Inc., a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, in a copyright litigation matter concerning the 2016 animated feature film Moana. The plaintiff alleged that Moana infringed his copyrights and trade secrets and sought disgorgement of direct and indirect profits from Disney subsidiaries relating to Moana. After a two-week trial, a jury deliberated for less than three hours before reaching a unanimous defense verdict. The Daily Journal acknowledged Partners Michael Roth and Arwen R. Johnson, who represented defendants at the trial.
