PARIS, December 1, 2014 — King & Spalding has been named “Rising Star Team of the Year” in the category of real estate: transactions and finance in the 2014 Trophées du Droit competition. The annual Paris-based awards program seeks to acknowledge the best law firms in France in specific practice areas. The awards are organized by Decideurs/Leaders League.
King & Spalding partners Benoît Marcilhacy, Pascal Schmitz and Alexandre Couturier accepted the award on behalf of the firm at an awards dinner held on November 27 at the belle-époque Paris convention center, Pavillon d’Armenonville.
“The firm is honored to be recognized by Trophées du Droit,” said Marcilhacy. “We are grateful to our many clients for entrusting us with their important deals and matters, which has allowed King & Spalding’s French real estate team to be singled out for this prestigious honor just 30 months after the establishment of our Paris practice.”
Rising star teams are the most successful in winning market share and demonstrating a capacity to be involved in highly complex deals, according to Trophées du Droit. Far from awarding new comers, Trophées du Droit said, the award applies to the team that has best competed with the other marketplace leaders in its specialty.
