backSAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9, 2022--Ally Givens has been awarded the 2022 Women of Excellence Award by the Black Women Lawyers of Northern California, for her efforts to mentor and promote others. Due to Givens’ contributions, the firm was awarded the organization’s 2022 Corporate DE&I Award.
Founded in 1979, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California (BWLNC) “is a source of support and sisterhood for Black women in the legal profession in Northern California,” according to the BWLNC website. Givens serves as Vice-President of the organization.
Givens is an associate in the San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Trial & Global Disputes practice group. Ally has represented a broad range of financial institutions, retailers, and other organizations in individual and class actions in both state and federal courts. She has defended mortgage servicers, investors, and related entities against federal and state debt collection statutes, consumer protection statutes, mortgage foreclosure, and loan modification claims, among others.
