The publication profiled the litigators and trial attorneys that “have made a measurable and specific impact in their field, including pro bono work; mentor other attorneys; promote inclusive practices in the workplace; and show leadership outside of their organization via involvement in civic or professional organizations.”
Kiser is a trial lawyer who represents many of the world’s best-known companies and brands in high-stakes disputes alleging dangerous products or substances, consumer fraud, false advertising, breach of warranty, privacy violations, unfair competition and other commercial malfeasance.
In its profile of Kiser, Crain’s highlighted her work in assisting persecuted individuals to obtain asylum; helping children with disabilities obtain services in public schools; indigent defendants in wrongful conviction proceedings; and incarcerated individuals in prisoners’ rights and habeas corpus proceedings. The publication also noted Kiser for representing a former prisoner suing due to an extended period of confinement in segregation in violation of his 14th Amendment rights, which she was able to secure mental health treatment and money damages on the eve of trial; and her fundraising efforts for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to support research into gene therapies and other strategies to find a cure for Duchenne.
