Nicholas’s practice focuses on corporate internal investigations, defense of corporations and individuals in government investigations, white-collar criminal defense, and related complex civil litigation in state and federal court.  He has experience advising clients in response to detailed audits and investigations by from state and federal regulators including the IRS.  He also has significant experience in the healthcare and life sciences industries including representing hospitals and health systems in litigation of multi-million disputes with health plans.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Nicholas worked in another global law firm's state and local tax practice where he advised clients in all stages of tax controversy beginning at audit all the way through litigation and appeal.  His multi-state tax experience includes resolving controversies involving corporate income, sales and use, gross receipts, and property tax matters.     

Nicholas clerked for the Honorable Sheila K. Oberto with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, where he assisted the judge with all aspects of her civil and criminal case load.  He was valedictorian of his law school class and graduated Order of Coif.
