Maggie Clark advises clients on managing regulatory risk and responding to evolving environmental and chemical regulatory requirements at the federal level. She works with manufacturers, processors, and product users on compliance strategies, government engagement, and regulatory challenges that affect business operations, product development, and supply chains.
Maggie assists clients in addressing emerging regulatory and policy developments involving PFAS, pesticides, and product stewardship obligations, including Extended Producer Responsibility considerations. Her work also supports clients responding to environmental incidents and regulatory scrutiny, drawing on her understanding of agency processes and enforcement frameworks.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Maggie served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel. In that role, she advised EPA program offices on a broad range of TSCA-, FIFRA-, and FDCA-related matters, including chemical reviews, statutory interpretation, and enforcement-related legal issues. Her experience inside the agency informs her ability to engage effectively with regulators and anticipate how regulatory priorities may affect clients.
Maggie also clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice F. Michael Kruse of the High Court of American Samoa, where she worked on matters involving territorial and tribal law, including land use issues arising from the territory’s unique legal status. She brings a strong appreciation for complex regulatory and jurisdictional frameworks to her environmental and regulatory practice.
Maggie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Ecology and International Affairs from the University of Georgia and her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law, where she was a Woodruff Fellow.
