People

John Green is a partner in King & Spalding's Washington, D.C. office.  John's practice consists of federal tax planning and dispute resolution in a wide variety of domestic and international contexts.

John advises clients on partnership, corporate, international, financial instrument, real estate, and energy-related tax issues. He has significant experience advising on the tax aspects of various investment fund formations, as well as advising on the tax aspects of all types of M&A and restructuring transactions, including cross-border transactions.  John frequently advises clients on the tax structuring of investments in the energy sector, including renewable energy.  He also works closely with our Islamic Finance and Investment practice group on the tax aspects of U.S. real estate investments by Middle Eastern clients.  Prior to joining King & Spalding, he served as a tax policy fellow at the Joint Committee on Taxation.  While in law school, John was awarded the Harry J. Rudick Memorial Award for excellence in taxation.
