Dainec Stefan is an associate in King & Spalding’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Special Matters and Government Investigations practice. Dainec's practice focuses primarily on government investigations, internal investigations, administrative adjudications, and white-collar criminal and civil litigation. His experience includes defending institutions and individuals in investigations and enforcement actions by various House and Senate committees, the Department of Justice, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). He has experience across a range of industries, including healthcare, technology, life sciences, and higher education. 

Previously, Dainec served as a Judge Advocate for the United States Air Force on active duty. In that capacity, Dainec litigated cases both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. He was selected to the Air Force's first cadre of Special Trial Counsel.  

Dainec earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law. During law school, Dainec was the Senior Articles Editor for the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics. He also interned in the Civil Frauds Division of the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Missouri and earned his B.A. in Political Science in 2014.
