Andrew Kummer is a partner in King & Spalding's Finance & Restructuring practice in New York. He advises financial institutions, asset managers, and private investment firms on complex structured finance, fund finance and derivatives transactions, with a focus on asset-based lending, securitizations, commodity-linked finance, and bespoke capital markets instruments. Andrew brings a commercially pragmatic approach to structuring sophisticated financial products for clients across jurisdictions.
Andrew advises on a wide range of financial products and structures, including receivables purchases and sales, forward flow arrangements, warehouse facilities, structured notes, securitizations, and other asset-based lending arrangements. He counsels funds, asset managers and financial institutions on subscription line facilities, NAV financings, and hybrid facilities in the fund finance space. His experience also extends to physical and financial commodity transactions, including inventory financing and monetization, intermediation arrangements, and energy market master agreements.
Andrew regularly advises on a variety of hedging transactions, including interest rate, deal contingent, and foreign exchange arrangements, along with the related regulatory considerations under the Dodd-Frank Act and other financial reforms.
Andrew is recommended by The Legal 500 US (2024–2025). Before joining King & Spalding, he was an partner at McDermott Will & Schulte LLP and began his legal career at Linklaters, spending time in its offices in both New York and Singapore.
