Law360 Names King & Spalding a Construction Practice Group of the Year

NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2023 — Law360 has recognized King & Spalding’s Construction practice as a 2022 Practice Group of the Year. This is the fourth time the firm has earned this recognition.

In its profile of the practice, Law360 highlights the group’s global practice, which is handling half a trillion dollars in construction contracts, including advising Occidental Petroleum on its plans to create the world's first commercial-scale direct air capture (DAC)project to pull carbon dioxide directly from the air and store it in geologic reservoirs deep underground. It also cited a transmission project to bring clean Canadian hydropower to New York City, a first-of-its-kind industrial-scale e-fuels plant, a novel brine-extraction plant to develop lithium for electric vehicle batteries, a hydrogen production plant in Indiana that aims to be the world’s largest carbon capture project, and ongoing work on The Line, a futuristic city under construction in Saudi Arabia.

Law360’s Practice Group of the Year awards “honor the attorney teams behind litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry this past year,” according to the publication. This year, Law360 selected the winners from nearly 900 nominations provided by 88 law firms. In addition to being named a Construction Practice Group of the Year, the firm is also recognized as a 2022 Practice Group of the Year for White Collar.
