People

Sydney Teng is an associate in our Charlotte office and a member of the firm's Data, Privacy & Security practice. She is well versed in federal and state privacy laws, including FTCA, HIPAA, CCPA, and emerging state privacy laws, and regularly advises clients in life sciences, digital health, and health-adjacent industries on assessing and operationalizing privacy compliance, data rights, and AI/ML governance. Sydney graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She served as Executive Articles Editor for the North Carolina Law Review.

Sydney received her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University where she earned multiple conference and regional awards for her efforts on the women’s varsity soccer team. Prior to law school, Sydney worked with Evergreen Health Care, a nonprofit health care organization providing primary care to the greater Baltimore area.
