Jonathan is a trial and appellate litigator focused on computer-related IP disputes. As a Ph.D. computer scientist with extensive appellate experience, Jonathan provides clients with clear counseling, strategy, and advocacy, even in the most complex technology cases. Jonathan has particularly deep expertise in patent and trade secret law, dispositive motions practice, and Federal Circuit appeals.
Jonathan’s practice spans diverse technical fields, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, operating systems, computer networking, large-scale database technology, and mobile devices. He has litigated cases involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement, and computer fraud in courts nationwide. Jonathan also regularly represents clients before specialized patent tribunals, including the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
In addition to his technical docket, Jonathan has successfully litigated cases involving constitutional law, product liability, trademark disputes, class actions, bankruptcy, international trade, and other areas of law.
Jonathan earned his J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Association. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, San Diego, where his research focused on large-scale and distributed computing. He graduated summa cum laude from Colby College with a B.A. in computer science, earning Phi Beta Kappa honors and departmental distinction.
