Type of Experience: King & Spalding seeks a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of experience for its construction transactions group in the Houston office. Experience in construction law is required, and prior engineering or related technical experience is preferred. Qualified candidates will have superior academic credentials. The work will involve the drafting and negotiation of construction-related contracts for large-scale energy, mining, and infrastructure projects located around the world, with each project generally ranging in value from $500 million to over $20 billion.

Project Finance

Location: Denver, Miami or New York
Type of Experience: King & Spalding seeks a highly qualified mid or senior-level “projects” attorney with experience in finance, M&A, and/or development of energy and infrastructure projects with experience at a large national or international law firm. Transactional legal experience with large renewable, conventional power, and energy projects will be a core competence. Qualified candidates will have expertise in some combination of credit and security documentation, purchase and sale and merger documentation, and power purchase agreements. Strong applicants will also have experience running closings for financings or acquisitions/dispositions in power, energy, and infrastructure. Candidates whose experience is more focused on project contracts must have experience drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements and related supply and offtake agreements. Experience across a variety of industries beyond traditional wind, solar, and natural gas projects, including hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage, renewable natural gas and data centers, is a positive.
