King & Spalding advised our client American Capital Equity III, LP (“ACE”), as it sold one of its portfolio companies, WRH, Inc. (“WIL Research”), to Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. (“Charles River”). The sale allowed Charles River to enhance its position as a leading global early-stage contract research organization by strengthening its ability to partner with global clients across the drug discovery and development continuum. We advised ACE through all stages of the merger process, including the drafting and negotiation of the agreement and plan of merger and the due diligence process.
