Global Investigations Review Names King & Spalding to List of Top D.C. FCPA Practices

WASHINGTON, Aug. 22, 2016 — Global Investigation Review (GIR) has named King & Spalding to its list of top Washington, D.C., firms for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.

GIR’s inaugural Washington, D.C., FCPA Bar guide, compiled with its sister publication, Just Anti-Corruption, highlights the strongest firms currently handling high-profile FCPA cases. King & Spalding was listed as “highly recommended.”

The publications noted that anti-corruption work “is a big part of King & Spalding’s white-collar practice” and that the firm has “a substantial presence in the nation’s capital” with more than half of its white-collar investigations lawyers located in its D.C. office. GIR highlighted several of the group’s high-profile cases, including four ongoing FCPA investigations, its successful handling of internal investigations for client Medtronic, and the group’s continued representation of Credit Suisse in government investigations. The publications also mentioned some of the group’s most active D.C. partners, including Chris Wray, Michael Pauze, Gary Grindler and Zack Harmon.

King & Spalding’s FCPA Practice Group resides within the firm’s Special Matters and Government Investigations Team, which is led by Wray, a former assistant attorney general in charge of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division. The firm’s 100-strong government investigations practice is made up of lawyers dedicated full-time to white-collar criminal defense, civil and regulatory investigations and corporate internal investigations. The group includes more than 40 former federal prosecutors and other enforcement officials.
