SAN FRANCISCO, May 18, 2023 — The Daily Journal has named King & Spalding Trial and Global Disputes partners Kenneth Steinthal and Arwen Johnson to its annual list of the Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California.
The publication noted that Steinthal frequently represents content providers such as Google, YouTube and NPR in protracted administrative procedures and litigation to determine who should pay how much to whom for music played, sold and streamed. This is the seventh year he has been named to the list.
Steinthal litigates matters in the intellectual property/media sector. His practice is focused on copyright, DMCA and antitrust/rate-setting cases involving the distribution of audio and audiovisual content and includes counseling companies regarding the licensing implications of their product offerings.
The Daily Journal highlighted Johnson’s practice of advising and litigating on behalf of media and entertainment companies, such as Netflix and Warner Bros, and leading litigation for technology companies and other businesses, especially in trade secret matters.
Johnson is a commercial litigator who delivers results in high stakes cases and leads trials and regularly wins dispositive motions. Her clients rely on her expertise in employment classification issues, discrimination and retaliation, sexual harassment, trade secrets, employee mobility, partnership disputes, copyright infringement and idea theft, the TCPA, defamation, attorney malpractice and high net worth trust and estates litigation.
