SEC Announces Retirement of Chief Accountant Paul Munter

On January 14, 2025, the SEC announced SEC Chief Accountant Paul Munter’s retirement, effective January 24, 2025.  Mr. Munter joined the SEC in 2019, and he became the SEC’s Chief Accountant in 2021.  SEC Chair Gary Gensler issued a statement thanking Mr. Munter for his leadership and “clear accounting advice.”
