PCAOB Chairman Logothetis and PCAOB Board Member Botic Emphasize PCAOB Stakeholder Engagement in Remarks at Investor Advisory Group Meeting

On April 29, 2026, Chairman Demetrios Logothetis and Board Member George R. Botic each delivered speeches at the PCAOB Investor Advisory Group (IAG) meeting in Washington, D.C. In his remarks, Chairman Logothetis emphasized his belief in transparent stakeholder outreach, which he cited as the reason his first major initiative as Chairman was to initiate the PCAOB’s strategic planning process with an open comment period for the PCAOB’s strategic priorities. This marked the first time the Board has done so. He also acknowledged feedback that advisory group recommendations have not always been considered or adopted and committed to adopting “a more transparent and structured approach” to incorporating the recommendations.

Board Member Botic highlighted the fact that the PCAOB is in a period of self-assessment and discussed his desire for input regarding changes to the PCAOB’s inspection program, the importance of the impact of artificial intelligence on financial reporting and auditing, and the importance of the IAG’s continued focus on critical audit matters and key audit matters.

Both speakers encouraged candid engagement from IAG members to help the PCAOB remain grounded in its core mission of protecting investors and maintaining trust in the capital markets.
