backOn February 13, 2024, the PCAOB announced that Michael Weigand has been named Director of the Office of Internal Oversight and Performance Assurance (IOPA), effective immediately. Most recently, he was the Head of Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit at Checkout.com. Prior to that, Mr. Weigand held senior positions at T. Rowe Price, including Chief Audit Executive, and Goldman Sachs. Brian Janda, who was named IOPA’s Acting Director in September 2023, will resume his role as the Office’s Deputy Director.
IOPA provides independent assurance on the efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity of PCAOB programs and operations. By charter, the IOPA Director serves one five-year term to promote the objectivity of the office.
