Financial Accounting Foundation Appoints New FASB Member

On November 18, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation, the organization responsible for overseeing the FASB and GASB, announced the appointment of Catherine Shakespeare to the Financial Accounting Standards Board. She will serve a five-year term beginning on July 1, 2026, and is eligible for reappointment after her term expires. Dr. Shakespeare holds a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Dublin City University, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is a Professor of Accounting and the Thomas C. Jones Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the University of Michigan.
