Shane Dornburg advises clients through complex financing transactions behind their most significant business decisions. Over his approximately 20-year career at King & Spalding, Shane has represented financial institutions, private credit lenders, other non-bank lenders, investors, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, family offices and other public and private borrowers and debt issuers in leveraged finance transactions, asset based debt facilities, acquisition financings, project financings, recapitalization transactions, sale-side M&A transactions, syndicated credit facilities, and other structured capital solutions.  Shane has extensive experience with the healthcare, pharmaceutical, physician practice management, life sciences, media, and telecommunications industries and a broad base of experience across other industries. Shane delivers practical, efficient counsel that positions clients for long-term success.

Shane Dornburg has broad experience structuring and negotiating complex cross-border financing arrangements around the world with transactions involving the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Singapore, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Shane's recent work reflects the breadth and scale of his practice. In early 2026 alone, he advised on financing matters totaling more than $2.3 billion in aggregate transaction value—spanning public company acquisitions, take-private sales, sell-side private equity exits, growth capital investments, and novel claims-acquisition financings across industries including technology, managed IT services, recreational boating, and commercial flooring.

Shane regularly manages financing workstreams within large, cross-practice deal teams alongside M&A, tax, antitrust, restructuring, and capital markets colleagues. Whether advising a public company target on a take-private sale, supporting a private equity sponsor through a competitive auction, or structuring preferred equity investments with debt repayment mechanics, he tailors his approach to each client's strategic objectives.

Shane has been Chambers ranked for the past 5 years and is currently ranked in Band 2 of the Banking & Finance practice area for the state of Georgia.
