Bio

Scott Hiers focuses on cross-border investigations, government enforcement matters, and complex disputes. He has represented corporations, financial institutions, and individuals in internal investigations and proceedings involving the U.S. Department of Justice, SEC, OFAC, BIS, and other U.S. and foreign authorities.

Scott regularly advises multinational companies navigating parallel criminal, civil, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions. He has experience leading fact development in sensitive investigations, including large-scale document reviews and sophisticated transactional and financial analyses. He also counsels clients on compliance program enhancements, crisis management, and managing the legal and business risks associated with government scrutiny.

Scott previously served as a legal extern in the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Before law school, he worked as an economic consultant in Washington, D.C. Scott also maintains an active pro bono practice representing individuals seeking asylum and other immigration relief, including in federal court.
