Desi Hamilton

• Contributed to the defense of a large food manufacturing company and its majority shareholders against claims of breach of fiduciary duty and oppression brought by the minority shareholders. The plaintiffs' lawsuit sought to dissolve the company and $2 billion in damages. After a two week trial, the jury returned a full defense verdict. The judgment was affirmed on appeal.
• Represented a communications company and an advertising company and its executives in investigations conducted by the DOJ and SEC into alleged FCPA violations by foreign subsidiaries.
• Represented Russia’s largest telecommunications company in connection with its DOJ-appointed compliance monitor.
• Represented a pharmaceutical company in an investigation into alleged price fixing by numerous state attorneys general.
• Represented a debt collector in connection with an investigation by the FTC and CFPB.
• Advised a healthcare company regarding its board of directors composition pursuant to the FCPA and U.K. Bribery Act.

Desi Hamilton’s practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, complex government enforcement actions, regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, and internal corporate reviews. Desi represents corporations, as well as their officers, directors and employees, in connection with a variety of investigations conducted by federal and state law enforcement agencies. She has experience advising on cross-border investigations and compliance reviews, including matters in the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, India, Switzerland, and Russia.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Desi was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Washington, D.C.

During law school, Desi served as an editor of the American University Law Review and the President of the Moot Court Honor Society.

Desi is a native Russian and Bulgarian speaker.
