Overview

Cybersecurity in the Digital Age continues to be a challenge for all industry sectors and the government entities that support them. Please join our next “Tech Law Talk” breakfast, during which Congressman Michael McCaul, the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, will be discussing cybersecurity legislation in the 115th Congress, Information Sharing between government and business, and will share his insights regarding the Commission on Digital Security.
This will be an opportunity to speak directly with Chairman McCaul and help shape how the government thinks about these issues.  While Information Sharing Implementation has the potential to improve unified responses to security threats, and provide better decision-making for those responses, there are many business concerns related to safe-guarding trade secrets and other valuable company assets.
In addition, Chairman McCaul and Senator Mark Warner have introduced the Digital Security Commission Act. The proposed Commission is designed to protect national and digital security, while seeking to avoid inadvertently fostering terrorist activity by implementing encrypted communications and other secure forms of communication.  The Commission seeks to have an integrated discussion with key stakeholders ranging from the technology industry, the intelligence community.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Cybersecurity legislation in the 115th Congress
  • Information Sharing Implementation
  • McCaul-Warner Commission on Digital Security
