Multiple King & Spalding Lawyers Named to Cybersecurity Docket’s Incident Response Elite List

Cybersecurity Docket has named four King & Spalding lawyers—Charly Helleputte, Robert Hudock, Phyllis Sumner, and Jarno Vanto—to its Incident Response Elite list, which recognizes “the best incident response lawyers in the business.”

Helleputte advises clients on cybersecurity and privacy matters in complex cross-border engagements. He helps organizations navigate overlapping regulatory and enforcement regimes, including NIS, PSD2, and CTR, and meet evolving accountability expectations, including in the AI space. He also supports clients in developing practical, standards-based compliance approaches across the data lifecycle.

Hudock counsels clients on preparing for, responding to, and recovering, from cyber-based attacks on their networks and information. He assesses clients’ security controls and practices for protecting data, develops and implements information security programs, and helps clients comply with federal and state regulatory requirements.

Sumner is the firm’s Chief Privacy Officer. She leads the firm’s Data, Privacy and Security practice and regularly counsels corporate boards, senior executives, and other clients on cybersecurity preparedness, emergency response, remediation, compliance, internal and regulatory enforcement investigations, and data breach and privacy litigation.

Vanto counsels clients on privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and technology matters with a global, cross-border focus. He guides organizations through regulatory compliance and investigations, AI governance, and technology and data transactions, including licensing and data transfer arrangements. He works with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on privacy due diligence and deals involving regulated data.
