Michelle Rae Braden

Michelle Story is an associate in King & Spalding's Government Matters practice and a member of the firm's International Trade team. Michelle assist clients with various international trade matters, including export controls, economic sanctions, customs, and national security review of foreign investments. 

Michelle has experience advising on compliance with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), U.S. Customs and Border Protection laws and regulations, as well as compliance with US sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Further, Michelle has assisted clients in seeking clearance of investments by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). 

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Michelle worked at a prominent global law firm on similar international trade issues with a particular focus on public policy and advocacy. Previously, she served in various components of the Department of Homeland Security, including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the Transportation Security Administration, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 

She graduated top of her class at George Mason Antonin Scalia Law School, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security and Political Economy from Tulane University.
