Jonathan Weinberg

Jonathan helps technology companies and innovators resolve high-stakes IP disputes. A Ph.D. computer scientist and former Federal Circuit law clerk, he seamlessly blends deep technical expertise with sophisticated legal strategy to craft accessible legal arguments that win at trial and stand up on appeal. 

Jonathan litigates and counsels clients on patent, trade secret, and other IP matters across a wide range of technical fields, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, operating systems, and computer networking. He has represented clients in technology disputes before U.S. district courts nationwide, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also has experience with non-IP technology disputes, including matters involving allegations of computer fraud and abuse.

Jonathan is a seasoned appellate advocate and brief writer. He has handled dozens of patent appeals before the Federal Circuit and has briefed dispositive issues across numerous areas of law, including constitutional law, products liability, trademark law, class actions, bankruptcy, and international trade.

Before entering private practice, Jonathan clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He earned his J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Association. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, San Diego, where his research focused on large-scale and distributed computing. He graduated summa cum laude from Colby College with a B.A. in computer science, earning Phi Beta Kappa honors and departmental distinction.
