Bio

Jonathan Arkins is a structured finance attorney, representing domestic and international banks and financial institutions, private equity, credit and debt funds, and other institutional investors in revolving and static-pool structured warehouse facilities and bankruptcy safe harbored financing transactions and structures (including repurchase/repo transactions, securities contracts and hybrid warehouse lines).  In addition, he represents domestic and foreign asset-backed securitizations of a diverse range of asset types, short and long term forward flow receivables and payment streams securitization and monetizations, supply chain and trade financing (including buyer-led and supplier-led, early-pay and extended-pay), bullet and continual-flow trade receivable financing and securitizations, commercial and residential mortgage financing and back-leveraging (together with related real estate assets), fund finance and subscription lines and various other types of non-traditional secured lending and credit-enhanced financing structures.

Mr. Arkins has extensive experience in short and long term international and domestic securitization and monetization transactions, use and utilization of standby and trade letters of credit in various capacities, as well as the representation of institutional investors in corporate and asset-backed private placement transactions.  He is a recognized leader in creative structured finance solutions to challenging financing requirements, and is identified by clients as creative, diligent and commercial/pragmatic.

Mr. Arkins started his career as a commercial litigator, spending a number of years working on financial disputes, before moving into the transactional side of practice.  His time spent addressing the fall-out of certain financial transactions has helped inform his approach to structuring new financing facilities to minimize the risks of occurrence of such disputes in the future.
