Danielle Pressler

Danielle Pressler specializes in advising clients on international trade regulatory matters, including compliance with U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, and anti-boycott laws.  Her clients include multinational corporations, manufacturers, defense contractors, financial institutions, and telecommunications, media, and technology companies.

Before joining K&S, Danielle served in the U.S. government for several years.  She most recently served in a senior position in the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) where she led investigations of complex international transactions to enforce U.S. sanctions.  While at OFAC, Danielle’s enforcement matters spanned an array of sanctions programs and industries.  She also negotiated on behalf of OFAC multiple settlements of apparent violations of OFAC regulations with major corporations.  Additionally, Danielle presented at conferences on sanctions compliance, provided advice on OFAC regulations and compliance, and worked closely with other federal bodies, including the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Security Division (NSD), and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). 

Prior to OFAC, Danielle served in the U.S. Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) in multiple capacities.  As Special Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defense Trade Controls, she advised senior government officials and industry representatives on matters concerning the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  Previously, she led complex investigations of international transactions involving defense articles and services to enforce U.S. export controls and sanctions.  During this time, Danielle had several speaking engagements on compliance with the ITAR and negotiated on behalf of DDTC multiple settlements of apparent violations of the ITAR.

Before joining DDTC, Danielle clerked for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
