Paul Walter d'Ambrosio

• Defending Boehringer Ingelheim in numerous state-court actions arising from allegations concerning Zantac and other ranitidine-containing products.
• Advising a major online retailer on recurring legal issues and briefing regarding its nationwide docket of shipping-related torts.
• Defending a major baked-goods brand against mislabeling allegations in multiple class actions in federal court.
• Defending General Motors and OnStar in an MDL involving more than 40 consumer class actions related to alleged data privacy claims related to connected vehicle data.

Paul d'Ambrosio focuses his practice on complex legal-issues advising and critical-motions briefing in high-stakes class actions, nationwide product-liability torts, and other large, nationally coordinated matters. A former clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Paul also frequently represents King & Spalding's clients on appeal.

As a legal issues and appeals lawyer, Paul analyzes jurisdictional and other legal issues at the outsets of disputes to develop strategies for resolving matters quickly and for putting clients in favorable positions in the latter stages of litigation. He is often involved in briefing dispositive legal issues in motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, helping clients narrow the issues that will be tried or eliminating the threat of trial entirely. Paul also has extensive experience building the factual record through taking witness depositions, particularly in pharmaceutical mass-tort cases.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Paul served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and for the Honorable Andre Mathis on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Memphis. He received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he earned the Scholastic Excellence Award in Constitutional Law, and Vanderbilt's faculty selected him to receive the McCoy Scholarship for outstanding achievement in that subject.
