Chief Lawyer Talent Development Officer
With almost 20 years of experience at the firm, Michelle Carter is the firm’s Chief Lawyer Talent Development Officer. In this role, Michelle co-leads King & Spalding’s lawyer talent initiatives, ensuring the initiatives align with the needs of firm clients and support the development of lawyer talent. Working closely with practicing lawyers and professional staff across the firm’s global platform, Michelle focuses on lawyer recruiting and development, including lawyer hiring, integration, development, and training. She collaborates with others on the lawyer compensation, evaluation, and promotion processes. Collaboration, inclusion, and opportunity are core to the firm’s talent strategy and central to the work of the Lawyer Talent team.
Michelle first joined the firm as a lawyer in our Finance & Restructuring practice. She earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law.
