Laurent Bensaid is the Managing Partner of King & Spalding's office and leads the firm's French corporate practice.

Laurent helps listed and private companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions structure and execute complex M&A, private equity, and public takeover transactions.

He works alongside clients on strategic acquisitions, LBOs, public-to-private deals, and capital markets transactions, helping them manage risk, navigate regulatory and deal execution challenges, and deliver successful outcomes in high-value domestic and cross-border situations. He regularly advises clients on strategic investments, recapitalizations, governance-sensitive situations, and shareholder liquidity matters, particularly where multiple stakeholders, financing considerations, and complex execution dynamics require careful planning and coordination.

His recent work includes advising private equity investors and founder-led businesses on buyouts, strategic investments, and recapitalizations, including EMZ Partners, Andera Partners, Montefiore Investment and H.I.G. Capital. He also regularly advises founders and shareholders on sales processes, partnership transactions, and investment arrangements designed to support the next stage of a company’s development.

Laurent advises corporate clients on strategic M&A transactions in France and internationally. Recent representations include advising Air France-KLM on its acquisition of a minority stake in WestJet and Axway Software on the acquisition and financing of Sopra Banking Software, a global financial technology business.
