Bio

Laura Bushnell counsels management teams and Boards of Directors of private and public companies in connections with their business transactions, including capital raising matters, strategic transactions and corporate governance. She brings over 25 years of experience advising high-growth technology and life science companies at all points in their life cycle, from inception to exit. 

Laura's capital raising experience includes representing issuers and investors in venture capital pre-seed, seed and early stage financings, growth stage and crossover rounds, strategic investments, initial public offerings, follow-on and secondary offerings, recapitalizations and PIPE financings. She also represents corporate strategic investors in their early stage company investments. 

In addition, Laura frequently serves as primary outside general counsel to emerging growth companies. In this capacity, she advises management on commercial agreements, corporate governance, disclosure and public company reporting obligations, employment and equity compensation, fiduciary duties, acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures, and compliance with securities laws.

She serves on the Board of Trustees of the UC Santa Cruz Foundation and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County.  She chairs the Dean's Advisory Council of the Baskin School of Engineering, University of California Santa Cruz.
