Patrick Runge focuses on environmental and safety compliance for heavily-regulated businesses.  His extensive work with utilities and other major industrial facilities throughout the country gives him unique experience with the federal and state air, water, waste, and worker safety regulations that directly impact his clients.  He regularly advises companies, municipalities, and other parties in matters involving the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and similar state agencies.

Patrick’s work includes guiding clients through complex permitting issues involving air, surface water, groundwater, stormwater, and solid/hazardous waste. It also includes self-auditing, remedial planning, and crafting strategies to address changing regulatory landscapes. Patrick also defends clients in state and federal enforcement actions involving alleged environmental or safety incidents, whether brought directly by a regulatory agency in an administrative settings or through the government in a civil proceeding.
