• Lead Counsel for InterContinental Hotels Group (Six Continents) in antitrust class actions in Chicago and Seattle federal courts alleging conspiracies with hotel companies in setting room rates by sharing information through third-party vendors.
• Lead Counsel for ECI Management, LLC in antitrust class action alleging that owners and managers of multifamily rental housing conspired to fix prices through the use of RealPage's algorithmic revenue management software.

• Lead Counsel for Progressive Casualty Insurance Corp. (and related affiliates) in dozens of antitrust actions and a RICO class action consolidated in an MDL proceeding in Orlando alleging a conspiracy among insurance companies related to labor rates for automobile repairs.
• Co-Lead Counsel for UCB S.A. and UCB, Inc. in federal and state actions, both class and non-class, filed throughout the country alleging a global cartel in the sale of vitamins.
• Lead Counsel for Kemira Chemicals Inc. in MDL proceeding in Newark, New Jersey, alleging conspiracy to fix prices in sale of liquid aluminum sulfate.
• Lead Counsel for The Coca-Cola Company in defeating a claim for over $100 million worth of company stock based on tender of antiquated stock certificate.
• Lead Counsel for Progressive Casualty Insurance Company in purported class action filed in Miami federal court alleging unfair and deceptive trade practices, misrepresentations, and product liability related to Progressive’s “Snapshot” device for usage-based insurance; court denied plaintiff’s motion for class certification.

• Lead Counsel for Clearwater Paper Corporation in defeating, after trial on the merits, an attempt by a competitor to impede an approximately $300 million project by enjoining delivery of key machinery based on restrictive covenant.
• Lead Counsel for Progressive Casualty Insurance Corp. (and related affiliates) in an antitrust and RICO action alleging a conspiracy among insurance companies related to denial of no-fault insurance claims in New York.
• Counsel for the General Electric Company in antitrust class action alleging conspiracy to restrain trade in purported markets for parts and service for certain medical equipment.
• Lead Counsel for Michelin North America in an action alleging Sherman Act and Robinson-Patman Act violations in the sale of tires.
• Lead Counsel for Sonangol, E.P. in a federal antitrust action alleging an international conspiracy to fix oil production levels and international sales of oil for the purpose of fixing and stabilizing the price of oil and refined oil products.

Jeff has extensive experience in antitrust litigation and counseling for clients in various industries, including food and beverages, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, energy, financial products, telecommunications, hospitality and healthcare. Jeff has represented firms and individuals in several purported class actions alleging business torts, consumer fraud, RICO violations and other substantive claims. Jeff also represents businesses as plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation and appellate matters.  Jeff has appeared in every federal appellate court, and has presented oral argument in eight federal appellate circuits.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he served on the law review. Jeff clerked for The Honorable Gerald Bard Tjoflat, then Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Jeff earned his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College, and studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science prior to attending law school.

Jeff is active in legal pro bono and community activities. Among his civic activities, Jeff currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Alliance Theatre and served on the Board of Trustees for the Woodruff Arts Center, participated in Leadership Atlanta (Class of 2008), served on the Board of Directors (Past President) of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, served on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Georgia and served on the Board of Directors for Hosea Feed the Hungry-Homeless.

Jeff has held various positions of law firm leadership, including Practice Group Leader for the Business Litigation Practice Group, Hiring Partner and service on the firm’s Associate Evaluation and Pro Bono Committees.
