Jacob George Mathew

Jacob Mathew is a litigator who has represented clients in complex, high-stakes disputes across jurisdictions and industries. He has worked on cases involving intricate legal and procedural issues, with a particular focus on federal litigation.  He has experience in business and contract disputes, investigations, appeals, and arbitrations. 

Before joining King & Spalding, Jacob clerked for judges at both the trial and appellate levels, including Judge Michael J. Truncale of the Eastern District of Texas, Chief Justice Nathan L. Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court, and Judge John E. Steele of the Middle District of Florida.

Originally from India, he lived in Mauritius, Dubai, Singapore, Seattle, and New Orleans, before settling in Dallas. He earned his law degree from SMU, where he held leadership roles in the SMU Law Review Association and the Board of Advocates. While in law school, he also served as a research assistant to Professor Anthony J. Colangelo and as an extern to Magistrate Judge Renee H. Toliver of the Northern District of Texas. Jacob also has an undergraduate degree in classical music.

Jacob currently serves as an associate editor for The Advocate, a publication of the Texas State Bar’s litigation section. He remains deeply involved with the Dallas Asian American Bar Association. He also coaches students as an adjunct professor of oral advocacy at SMU.
