Hiroko Yamamoto

Hiroko Yamamoto helps clients resolve complex business disputes, with a particular focus on high-stakes construction, energy, and infrastructure disputes. She represents owners, developers, contractors, and other project participants in international and domestic arbitrations and commercial litigation. 

Hiroko's experience spans all phases of the dispute lifecycle, from early risk assessment and strategic resolution through trial and final decision. She has represented corporate clients in federal and state courts across the United States and in arbitrations conducted under the rules of leading international and domestic arbitral institutions. She regularly works with multidisciplinary teams, including project teams and technical experts. Recent matters have involved projects in the refining, LNG, natural gas, power and renewable, and civil infrastructure sectors.

Her publications on dispute resolution have appeared in the Chambers Global Practice Guide, New York Law Journal, American Review of International Arbitration, and ICSID Review. She has also spoken at programs hosted by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Asian International Arbitration Centre, Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, and New York Law School.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Hiroko practiced litigation and arbitration in New York. While attending Harvard Law School, she served as co-editor-in-chief of the Harvard International Law Journal and president of the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association.
