Durelle Hill represents clients in large-scale, high-exposure products liability matters, including complex class actions and multidistrict litigation. He has significant experience handling automotive litigation and emerging technology issues. Durelle also advises clients on vicarious liability concerns, including those involving independent contractors and evolving business models. In addition to litigating disputes, he partners with businesses to evaluate trial risk, assess potential damages exposure, and develop strategic settlement approaches aligned with overall business objectives.
Durelle has experience across all phases of litigation, including discovery, dispositive motion practice, and trial preparation in multidistrict litigations and class actions, particularly in the automotive, transportation, and consumer products arenas. He regularly assists in coordinating strategy across jurisdictions and managing issues that arise in large-scale matters. In addition to his products liability and mass torts practice, Durelle has handled complex business litigation involving multimillion-dollar disputes for clients in industries such as financial services, telecommunications, and real estate, bringing a practical, business-focused approach to both trial strategy and dispute resolution.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Hill served as the Assistant Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Columbia University, where he implemented and enforced state and university-wide employment policies through training university administrators on how to properly conduct faculty recruitment searches. He also managed the university’s faculty recruitment system and was responsible for reviewing and approving faculty search plans, providing affirmative action data, administering technical assistance, and monitoring systematic trends to ensure efficiency in the hiring process.
Durelle received his undergraduate degree as a triple major from Seton Hall University, where he also received a Master of Public Administration degree focused on Nonprofit Management.
Durelle earned his law degree at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he was a competitor on the national mediation team.
