Douglas Whelan (Doug)

Doug Whelan focuses on government investigations, internal investigations, regulatory matters, white-collar criminal defense, and related civil litigation. Doug represents clients in matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, state attorneys general, and other domestic authorities.

Doug earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. During law school, he interned with the Federal Trade Commission, the New York State Offices of the Inspector General, and the New York City Council. Doug was also a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal, where he published a Note on administrative rulemaking authority under state consumer protection statutes. Prior to law school, Doug was a Trial Preparation Assistant at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University, where he majored in Political Science and studied Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
