Barbara Medrado

Barbara Medrado is an associate in the Government Matters practice and a member of the firm's International Trade team.  Barbara advises clients in actions before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the EU Commission, as well as in disputes at the U.S. Court of International Trade and in World Trade Organization.

Before law school, Barbara worked for the Foreign Trade Secretariat in Brazil conducting anti-dumping investigations and auditing exporting companies in many foreign countries. Barbara also assisted dispute settlement cases at the World Trade Organization involving trade remedies. She has published a book and articles on trade agreements and on technical aspects of anti-dumping calculations.

She graduated from Harvard Law School in May 2019. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2012.

Barbara is not licensed to practice law in Brussels.

In law school, Barbara was part of Harvard's WTO moot court team in 2017-2018 and coached the team in 2018-2020, winning first place at the North American Round of the competition in both years. Barbara worked as a research assistant for Professor Mark Wu and Professor Katrin Kuhlmann and was a recipient of National Council on International Trade Development Scholarship and the Andrew B. Steinberg Scholarship. She was also nominated a Salzburg Cutler Fellow in 2019.
