Bio

Arwen Johnson is a first chair trial lawyer who delivers results in high-stakes cases. Arwen’s clients rely on her subject matter and industry knowledge in a wide variety of subject matters, as well as her extensive experience with emergency and provisional remedies, class action procedures, and post-trial motions and appeals. Arwen is also the Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office of King &?Spalding.  

A Los Angeles Daily Journal Top IP Lawyer, Top Trade Secret Lawyer, and Top Women Lawyer, Arwen is unique in having several impressive practices: representing some of the nation’s top entertainment clients in high profile idea theft and copyright infringement matters; representing companies in trade secrets and employment disputes over their highly valuable technologies and innovations; and representing public and private companies in complex class action and commercial disputes. Regardless of the area, clients seek Arwen out to get positive results in their most challenging matters. Several of Arwen's matters have won Verdicts of the Year from the Daily Journal and she is Chambers ranked in Media & Entertainment Litigation. 

Arwen is also an enthusiastic member of the Los Angeles legal community. She serves on the boards of the LA Copyright Society, the Association Business Trial Lawyers Association and Teach Democracy. She previously served a three-year term on the California JNE Commission and as a Regional Co-Chair of the ABA Leadership Judicial Intern Opportunity Program. Arwen is a recipient of the First Amendment Award from the ACLU for her landmark victory in the pro bono litigation over the constitutionality of the Los Angeles County Seal. She was a finalist for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Mentor of the Year” award in 2024 and received that honor from King & Spalding in 2023.
