• Representing Salini Impregilo (n/k/a WeBuild) in an ICSID claim against Argentina under the Italy-Argentina BIT, arising from the termination of a bridge and tollway concession
• Representing an Argentine airport builder in an ICSID arbitration against Peru arising from the early termination of a concession contract to build a new airport in the city of Cusco.
• Representing an American investor in an ICSID arbitration against Mexico relating to the early termination of a sea mining concession for phosphate and other minerals in Baja California.
• Representing the Peruvian subsidiary of a French construction group against the City of Lima in a toll road project regarding the nullity of the concession agreement. The case involves construction claims and other miscellaneous matters.
• Representing the Peruvian subsidiary of an American infrastructure company in an ICC arbitration arising from the early termination of a financing broadband project in two of Peru’s provinces. Representing the American investor in an ICSID arbitration against Peru for facts related to the same dispute.
• Representing an American private equity firm in an ICSID arbitration against Mexico in which the investor alleges denial of justice and judicial expropriation of property rights in a sugar mill located in Northwestern Mexico.

Arturo Oropeza Casas has significant experience representing clients in high-stakes international commercial and investment arbitrations in English and Spanish, with a particular focus on energy and infrastructure projects in Latin America. Arturo regularly writes and speaks on a variety of international arbitration topics including the growing relevance of Asian investment in Latin America. Before joining the firm, Arturo worked as an associate in two law firms in Mexico City. He was also Project Director of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, China. Arturo is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese and has basic knowledge of French and Mandarin.
