Alaa Hachem focuses on international arbitration and public international law. Her experience includes commercial and investment arbitrations under various institutional rules, including ICSID and ICC Rules.

Alaa clerked at the International Court of Justice as a judicial fellow for HE Judge Sarah H. Cleveland. She has also conducted investigations and monitored human rights violations across the Middle East and North Africa with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Prior to law school, Alaa served as an Investment Analyst at the International Finance Corporation.
