Ahsin Azim is an associate in the Government Advocacy and Public Policy and Healthcare Groups in the Washington, D.C. office of King & Spalding. His practice primarily focuses on responding to state and congressional oversight committee requests and subpoenas and preparing for state and congressional oversight hearings. He also handles complex administrative law issues, including challenges brought under the Administrative Procedure Act before administrative agencies and in federal court (including district and appellate courts). Ahsin has defended companies in investigations and enforcement actions brought by, as well as responding to inquiries received from, congressional committees, the DOJ, State Attorneys General, and State government agencies.
Ahsin also devotes a significant portion of his time to pro bono work, with a particular focus on immigration, family law, and healthcare advocacy. Ahsin currently leads the operations of the firm’s UndocuNeighbor initiative, where he primarily assists Dreamers with their DACA renewal applications.
Ahsin received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he served as Notes Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and Executive Justice of the Moot Court Board. While attending law school, he was a Law Clerk at the Office of the General Counsel of Vanderbilt University and a Judicial Extern at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Before law school, Ahsin worked as a Management Consultant with Accenture and Accenture Federal Services, where he primarily focused on federal health IT and state Medicaid initiatives. Ahsin graduated cum laude from Northwestern University, where he majored in American Studies and English Writing–Creative Nonfiction.
Ahsin's legal works have been published in Bloomberg Law, Reimbursement Advisor, and Vanderbilt Law Review. His creative nonfiction works have been featured in Illinois’s Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Nonfiction, Thought Catalog, and other publications.
